We did it!!!

HOORAY!!!
We completed an ENTIRE week of school!!  (I'll wait, while you applaud......)      :)
What a wonderful feeling, to go to school a whole week, without an interruptions, due to holidays or the weather!  I feel we actually accomplished a lot of learning this week!
Because of SNOW days, we are a little behind of where I would actually like to be this time of year, but I am happy with the progress each and every student has been making lately.  Thank you to everyone who has been working so hard with your child on their nightly Homework folder.  These activities are skills we are working on in the classroom, as well as areas your child needs additional practice.  Every child does not have the exact same homework (in case you talk with other parents), YOUR child's homework is designed to meet the educational needs of YOUR child.  :)

This past week we worked with the letter Oo and the letter Hh; our theme was Fairy Tales and we looked at some of the differences in common fairy tales (such as the 3 Little Pigs).  This next week the letter Ll will be our letter of the week; we will introduce the sight words: do, that, are; and will will start learning about money with our President's theme!

Highland Park is currently planning a literacy Family Night on Thursday, March 3 from 6-7:30pm.  Additional information about this family night will be included in this week's Thursday folder (Feb. 24th).  Also, within the next couple week's your child will bring home a sign-up sheet for Parent/Teacher conferences.  Remember it is important to attend these conferences, so we can discuss your child's progress in Kindergarten.
Thanks for visiting our class blog!  :)
