This week...

Because this was a short week, we focused only on the letter Dd.  We will work on the letter Kk, our sight words, and adding numbers in math next week!   Thursday folders went home today, since we did not have school yesterday because it was a SNOW day.  Your child's report card was inside the Thursday folder.  If you have any questions about the report card please see or e-mail me ASAP.  Also included was a copy of the Kindergarten assessment I use for my classroom, along with a list of letter sounds and sight words.

At this point in the year, your child should recognize most (if not all) upper/lowercase letters; be able to produce sounds for the letters, Aa, Bb, Cc, Ii, Mm, Nn. Pp, Rr, Ss, and Tt.  By the end of next week, we will have covered all sight words on the list through the word "see".
I am proud of the progress my Kindergarteners have made this first semester!  They all deserve a BIG pat on the back!

We ended our "Snow/Winter" unit this week, with a snowman cake!  Plus.... we didn't have any January birthdays, and we wanted a reason to have cake!  :)   So we had something of an "un-birthday" today....

Thank you to Mrs. Julie (one of our classroom assistants) for making the cake for us!  It was YUMMY!!

Don't forget next Wednesday is EARLY RELEASE day!  Kindergarten will dismiss at 12:45pm.
