Winter Time in Kindergarten

The past two weeks have been a "Winter Wonderland" in our Kindergarten class.  We have painted snowmen; used marshmallows for counting and snowflakes for patterning; made snowmen out of playdough and then put them in graduated order; and pretended it was snowing in our Home-Living area.

During our first week back from Winter break, we worked on recognizing our last names, and worked with the letter Kk.  This past week, we have focused on writing our last names; reviewed #'s 0-10 and started on #'s 11-15; we introduced sight words: see, look; and our letter this week was Ff.  We graphed, counted and eat fruit loops; made "fingerprint Ff's" and practiced writng upper and lowercase Ff on an outline of a fish.
We ended the week, by making "Sweet Snowflakes" for a snack on Friday!

It was a GREAT way to start 2012!  I look forward to all the exciting activities we have left to do this school year!
