Busy, busy, busy....

It's been a while, since I last updated the blog.  Sorry.  :(  Between working on National Board certification, assessments, and parent/teacher conferences, I fell behind on updating our class blog.  Hopefully, we are back on somewhat of a 'normal" routine, and I can update frequently.  Over the past couple of weeks, we have focused on Pond Animals, Bugs, and Spring Time.  Our letters have been Jj and Ww; and we started telling time on the hour and half hour.

This week we are learning about Dinosaurs!  Look for updates and pictures this weekend!

We are also starting a unit through OERB called "Little Bits."  During this unit we will learn about Oklahoma and the oil boom; what products come from oil; and well-site safety.  This curriculum is all provided through OERB, who is also financing a field trip to the Oklahoma Science Museum in Oklahoma CIty next month.  YAY!!!  We are so excited about going!  More information (permission slips and parent sign-up forms) will go home in Thursday folders this week.

We will also be having a class Spring party next Friday, April 22nd.  We will have an egg hunt and party starting at 2:45pm.    I will provide the plastic eggs and the bags to collect the eggs in, but I am asking parents to bring in a bag of candy to help fill the eggs.  Bubble gum, Skittles, Starburst, etc, would be good choices.  However, since the eggs will be out in the sun, we are trying to stay away from chocolate.  :)

Let me know if you have any questions!
